Rithmic Accounts. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and money loss.

Rithmetic has several servers that run simultaneously when you connect and each one is responsible for different things

  • Market Data - online data
  • Trading System - order execution
  • PnL - position balance
  • Intraday History - intraday history

Very often we face the problem of PnL - the position has closed - but the rhythmik has not updated information about it and the position status remains the same. The position is displayed in ATAS - another attempt to close - sends another market order to the rhythmik to close ... which is successfully executed through the Trading System. But this is already a Reverse pose, which again is not displayed due to problems with the PnL server of ritmik.


Suggestion - when there is an outage with the PnL server, disable the other 3. This will :

  1. Prevent possible reversal and loss of funds. The main problem is that the position is not visible neither on the chart, nor in the terminal. It may appear after some time and if you are unlucky, it may not be in your direction.
  2. If you are a trader, it will visually let you know that something is wrong with the connection, because the quotes will stop loading. Plus you can add a big window with disconnection and Russian explanation of the reason.

p.s. There is also PnL Connection - Heartbeat has been quiet for XX seconds, a kind of borderline state and means that the rhythmik is trying to reconnect further.
