Linux is becoming increasingly popular as a desktop OS. Especially with the end of support for Windows 10, many people will have to decide what to do with their PC. An upgrade to Windows 11 is not possible for many users due to the hardware. There is the alternative of buying a new one or switching to a Linux distribution. With the support of Linux from ATAS, the decision becomes easier for some. Currently, I am only aware of 2 trading platforms that officially run on Linux. ATAS could be the third.
With .net Core there is already a good basis for the port to other operating systems. The runtime is available for Mac as well as for various Linux distributions. The challenge is the GUI topics. Wine or Mono could be a solution for this. (https://ccifra.github.io/PortingWPFAppsToLinux/Overview.html)
For distributing the software, there are now distribution independent technologies such as Flatpack (https://flatpak.org/). Flatpack ensures that the runtime environment is the same for all distributions.
